At Botany, we are creating nature-inspired narratives through our sustainable & effortless clothing.

Radhika More, Founder

She has studied fashion in India, followed by a postgraduate program in pattern-cutting at St Martins, London and has been successfully running a clothing design studio under the label Radhika More in Pune for over 15 years which specializes in Indian wear with a focus on well-crafted blouses for sarees. The brand has seen considerable success with women all across the globe wearing bespoke blouses & outfits designed by her. Working with a tricky garment such as a sari-blouse has honed her skills in understanding the human form and creating the perfect fitting garments.

Naming Our Brand

My mother studied botany in college and as a child I kept drawing flora & fauna relentlessly from her old textbook of botanical illustrations. It was the start of my love for art & design. Humans have always looked at mother-nature as a source of inspiration in design and form whether it’s a building, a phone or a dress.

While naming the brand, I brainstormed a lot and created a list of names but one day serendipitously while cleaning an old bookshelf at my parents house I came across this book that I had devoured as a child and I knew the brand had to be ‘Botany’.

Our Philosopy

Botany is a slow fashion label, which means that we produce in small batches and we produce fewer collections each year. Each piece created by us is handcrafted in great detail by our small team of skilled artisans from all over India.

We believe in fair wages and good working conditions for our artisans and we have built a community that is committed to helping them lead more empowered lives.

The designs reflect our personal values of sustainability, transparency and quality.

A lot of thought is given to functionality & fit along with design as we believe in creating clothing that is versatile and can be worn easily & effortlessly. Creating everyday statement pieces that are globally relevant in terms of design with nature-derived materials are at the core of our brand.

We love travel and different cultures around the world inspire our work, while retaining a keen & contemporary Indian approach.

Our Studio

The Botany Studio is based out of Pune. If you are in the city, we would love for you to pop in and experience our clothing in person!!

We are open all days from 11am-6:30pm except Thursdays.
